Natural Wonders To See This Summer

Summer is for FUN! Hopefully, you can take some time off or take a weekend to go see some of these natural wonders in our world!  Some are just a drive away and others will take a much longer plane ride, but the trip is so worth it.  You won’t believe your eyes when you see some of these pictures, but imagine the effect in person! Get out there to see these natural wonders this summer.

Navajo Falls, Havasupai Reservation, Arizona, USA

Havasupai means “people of the blue-green waters.” The amazing waters are such a vibrant color because of natural mineralization.  In order to witness their beauty, you have to hike down into the reservation from the far rim of the Grand Canyon or you can take a helicopter into the canyon.  It is completely worth the trek, I mean look at these waterfalls!

Blue Lagoon, Malta

Malta is not a super popular traveler’s’ destination yet, which makes it the best place to visit for a relaxing beachy summer holiday. Take a short boat trip off the coast to the island, Camino, where you will find the stunning Blue Lagoon. Rent a lounge chair and set up on the bay’s surrounding rock cliffs for some tanning and breathtaking views. You will be in heaven when you take a dip in those clear blue waters.

Antelope Canyon, Arizona

Doesn’t look real, right? But it is! Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon with two different main scenic sections.  There is “The Crack” and “The Corkscrew.”  The amazing flowing formations were created from the erosion of the sandstone from flash floods.  You have to take a guided tour in order to see the canyon, partially for safety reasons because the canyon can easily flood during rainy seasons.  This natural wonder is loved by photography enthusiasts and nature lovers!

The Great Barrier Reef, Australia

How can the Great Barrier Reef not be on someone’s bucket list of natural wonders to see? It is the world’s largest coral reef system –unreal! It is located off the coast of Queensland, Australia in the Coral Sea.  Make a trip this summer and witness its astonishing beauty, because sadly the reef is disappearing and may not be around forever. You can snorkel and explore the menagerie of cool sea creatures that exist with the reef.

Arches, Utah, USA

That is the Delicate Arch in Arches National Park where there is the highest density of natural arches in the world. The beautifully striped sandstone makes it look like the rock has been painted.  There are formations in the park that you can rock climb if you are into that or you can just enjoy the views, especially the sunrise or sunset ones!

Lake Hillier, “The Pink Lake,” Western Australia

While you are in Australia, after seeing the Barrier Reef, take a trip to go see Lake Hillier in Western Australia. Also known as the Pink Lake for obvious reasons. It contains certain organisms that create the pink color.  From above is the best way to get a good view of the lake so you can see the beautiful contrasts of color: the blue ocean, green trees, and pink lake.
